The short version
Every tool on Resizor runs entirely in your browser. Your images and videos are never uploaded to a server, never stored, and never seen by us or anyone else.
Your files never leave your device
Resizing, cropping, compressing, converting, background removal, and video processing all happen locally using WebAssembly (wasm-vips), the WebCodecs API, and on-device AI models. There is no upload step — the files you open are read directly by your browser and the results are generated on your machine. We have no servers that receive, process, or store your media.
What we collect
We don't run advertising or cross-site tracking, and we don't use cookies to profile you. We useCloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-first, cookieless measurement tool that records only aggregate, anonymized metrics (such as page views and country-level traffic) and never fingerprints you or links data to your identity. It never has access to the contents of your files.
On-device AI models
Features like background removal download an AI model (around 40 MB) the first time you use them. The model is fetched from a public CDN and cached by your browser so it works offline afterwards. Your image is processed by that model locally — it is never sent anywhere.
Local storage
Resizor may use your browser's local storage / IndexedDB to cache the app for offline use (it's a PWA) and to hand an image from the homepage to the editor. This data stays on your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
