Circle Crop

Crop any photo into a perfect transparent circle — ideal for profile pictures and avatars. Position the frame, pick a size, and download a clean PNG.

A round avatar looks sharp everywhere — but most editors only crop rectangles. Resizor's circle crop tool masks your photo into a true circle with transparent corners, so it drops cleanly onto any background, profile page or chat app.

It runs entirely in your browser with wasm-vips and canvas — no upload, no watermark. Position the circle, choose 256, 512 or 1024 px, keep it transparent or add a colour behind it, and export a PNG or WebP in a click.

// Three steps

How it works

01

Drop your photo

Add a JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or HEIC. Everything runs locally — nothing is uploaded.

02

Position the circle

Drag and resize the square frame; the circular crop is inscribed inside it. Pick an output size.

03

Download the circle

Export a transparent PNG (or WebP) with everything outside the circle removed.

Frequently asked questions

Q1Will the corners be transparent?
Yes. Export as PNG or WebP and the area outside the circle is fully transparent, so it sits cleanly on any background. Choose a solid colour behind the circle if you prefer.
Q2Are my images uploaded?
No. Cropping and masking happen entirely in your browser with wasm-vips and canvas. Your image never leaves your device.
Q3What size should I export?
256 px is great for small avatars, 512 px for most profile pictures, and 1024 px (or 'Max') for high-resolution use. The circle is always perfectly centered and round.
Q4Can I use this for profile pictures?
Absolutely — circular crops are ideal for social avatars, team pages, and Discord/Slack profile photos. Export a transparent PNG and it works everywhere.
Q5Does cropping reduce quality?
No. The pixels inside the circle are untouched; only the outside is masked away. WebP and PNG both keep full quality with transparency.
